Season's Greetings

23 December 2020

We wish you, your colleagues, family and friends health and every happiness for the coming year.

seasons greetings

Dear TAFISA members, colleagues and friends,
New year is just around the corner and a challenging year is coming to an end.  Thank you for making 2020 such a productive and memorable year. With your support, TAFISA has been able to grow in so many different directions.

This year, TAFISA World Walking Day – 24 Hours Around the Globe was an unprecedented success, showing transnational solidarity against the COVID-19 pandemic by passing the baton across time zones from east to west in a planet-wide relay. Dozens of thousands hailing from 63 countries on all continents took part and shared powerful messages of peace, access to sport and education for all, gender equity, health, and solidarity against COVID-19, among many other causes, working together to create the most inclusive and accessible 24-hour relay.
We have built on our successes on all continents, working together with our members to pursue our efforts in Europe and Asia and to reach out to Africa, the Americas and Oceania, developing new partnerships with exciting projects and opportunities. We have stayed in touch with our members and partners through webinars, online meetings and virtual conferences, continuing our efforts to keep the Global Sport for All Movement united and connected.

I am incredibly proud and humbled to be with the leadership team of such a great organisation and global family, and look forward ever-so-much to what 2021 and the future will bring. The 7th TAFISA World Sport for All Games to take place in Lisbon, Portugal on  June 18 – 24, 2021 will be a vibrant and colourful display of cultures, and Traditional Sports and Games. We also have the 27th TAFISA World Congress coming up in Portorož, Slovenia from October 6 - 10, where we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of TAFISA! They will be an  excellent opportunity to gather our Sport for All family!
On behalf of the TAFISA Board of Directors and office team, I wish you all a healthy and relaxing happy holiday season, and look forward to joining you next year on our mission towards a better world through Sport for All.
