TAFISA is the leading international Sport for All organisation. We strive to raise awareness about the benefits of Sport for All and physical activity worldwide and our vision is to create a better world through Sport for All. We support the promotion of Sport for All and physical activity through our network of over 380 members across 170 countries, and work with the International Olympic Committee, the European Commission, UNESCO, or the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE), among others.

To manage TAFISA Programmes we are looking for a Programmes Manager to start on June 1st, 2022, for an initial period of 1 or 2 years.

Job Description

Tasks of the Programmes Manager will include:

  • Management and delivers of projects in the fields of: 
    • Active Cities
    • Sport and Cultural Heritage Environments
    • Gender Equity
  • Partners & Stakeholders management, development of partnerships
  • Management and delivery of Sport for All capacity-building programmes, including in the field of gender equity
  • Business development activities (e.g. research associated with new business opportunities, project proposals, fundraising, grant applications, etc.).
  • Support to the implementation of TAFISA’s overall strategy
  • Representation of TAFISA internally and towards third parties
  • Implementation of day-to-day activities with the TAFISA team

Employment Conditions

The Programmes Manager will be employed on the base of a full-time position (39,25h/week) and an initial 1- to 2- year contract. His/her workplace will be the TAFISA Executive Office in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. S/He will integrate the TAFISA Team and will be directly supervised by TAFISA’s Secretary General. The work will involve frequent travel Europe- and worldwide. The Programmes Manager shall perform his/her duties in compliance with TAFISA’s statutes, bylaws and Code of Ethics as well as in accordance with the decisions of the BOD and with the other arrangements applying to the office.

The salary is adequate to the requirements of the position.

Required qualifications and competences

  • Master's degree in sport management, business administration, project management or other relevant fields
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and business development, in the field of sport (preferred) or other relevant fields
  • Experience in fundraising and the development of grant applications
  • English Level: Native speaker or non-native with full professional proficiency (Overall scoring of 8.5-9 at IELTS, CPE at Cambridge Exam, > 115 at TOEFL, >975 at TOEIC, or C2 level according to the CEFR).
  • Willingness to travel
  • High diplomatic skills to work with diverse stakeholders and funders
  • Communication skills and experience in public speaking
  • Leadership skills
  • Interest in non-profit work and the grassroots sport movement.
  • Quick learner and forward thinker who can preempt issues before they arise.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and team-player who is also able to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask and work towards competing deadlines by prioritising workload.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Willing to relocate and work in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
