On 18 February, TAFISA hosted a webinar on Frameworks to Action: Financing Inclusive and Community-Driven Sports for All Initiatives. This event, the fifth in the new Mission 2030 Series cycle, attracted attendees from around the globe, with over 200 participants, and featured participation from financial institutions, leading organizations, and experienced experts in the field. Their involvement elevated the discussion, highlighting how crucial it is to identify and implement innovative financing solutions and forge strong partnerships to support inclusive, community-driven programs.

The invited speakers, guided by moderator Gaëtan Garcia, engaged with the topic. Philippe Furrer from bloomUp initiated the session with a welcome impulse concerning why we should transform every diverse community through sports, as well as how to achieve it by evaluating financing approaches in this modern world. He showed relevant data and explained the investment patterns and the predicament we face by visible illustration.

The panel discussions during the webinar were engaging, containing great insights from our panelists: Carey Joost from Southern Africa Development Bank, Juan-Pablo Salazar from Latin American Development Bank, Alexis Saillard from UNESCO, Ollie Dudfield from IOC, and our impulse speaker Philippe Furrer from bloomUp.

The panelists discussed how to measure the return on investment in Sports for All, emphasizing that to improve sustainability and collaboration regardless of the form or approach of investment, whether it is replenishable or not, from grant funding, corporate partnership, or hybrid model, the core is to convince all stakeholders to prioritize and make more aware the need of structuring sports into everyone’s daily life.

The session also included a case study presentation by Khalida Popal from Girl Power Organization. She shared her firsthand experience fundraising for sports organizations, the challenges of marginalized communities, the successful portfolios her team has already executed, and the impact on the community. In the end, Khalida additionally answered the specific questions—how to connect the organization with the scope of the global frameworks, which sticks tightly to the theme—taking practical actions to bridge the gap.

The real-time interaction during the webinar added a dynamic atmosphere to the session. Considering the criteria, available resources, etc., several questions were raised, indicating active involvement and enthusiasm among all participants.

This webinar was a significant follow-up to our previous webinar on developing the Fundraising Readiness of Sport for All Organizations.
