The ADVICE App for Coaches is Out!

Although doping is usually associated with elite sport, reports have revealed that some athletes within grassroots sport also take performance enhancing drugs. This may be due to a lack of awareness of what constitutes banned substances, a lack of testing within grassroots sport, and a lack of comprehension of the dangers to one’s health. To remedy the issue, the ADVICE project has designed a mobile application designed to help sport coaches:

  • Promote clean sport
  • Promote positive sporting values
  • Create optimal sporting environments that may promote confidence, self-esteem, well-being, and enjoyment
  • Understand the impact they may have on the choice athletes make
  • Build effective relationships with athletes
  • Promote fair and ethical behaviour
  • Communicate with other coaches and parents
  • Answer questions about prohibited substances

Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, ADVICE is a project led by the University of Hull with 5 partner organisations from different countries with expertise in doping, coach education, pedagogy, psychology, policy, and behaviour change. TAFISA is a partner of the ADVICE project.
