To assess the venues and facilities of the Congress and to meet with local authorities and stakeholders, TAFISA Board Members and staff visited the host city from 22 - 24 March. The TAFISA Board Meeting held during this visit provided the Board members with an opportunity to evaluate the progress of the preparations and provide feedback on any issues that needed attention. The Board Members were delighted to report that the preparations are going smoothly, and they were confident that the Congress would be a success.

During the second day of the visit, the press conference was held at the Hallenbad Rheinbad in Düsseldorf. The press conference was joined by Wolfgang Buamann, TAFISA president, Michaela Röhrbein, DOSB, and Martin Wonik, LSB NRW.

"As a German and as the President of TAFISA, I am thrilled to welcome the world to Düsseldorf for the TAFISA World Congress 2023. This Congress comes at a crucial time when the world is facing a growing epidemic of physical inactivity, and the need for collaboration and knowledge sharing has never been greater. The theme of 'Sport for All: More Together than Ever' highlights the importance of working together to promote physical activity and Sport for All, and the Congress will provide a platform for leading experts and professionals to explore innovative approaches and strategies. The Congress is a place for practitioners and doers who use Sport for All in their community to create a better world. We look forward to welcoming delegates from around the world to Düsseldorf to be part of this important conversation and to help shape the future of physical activity and Sport for All." said Wolfgang Baumann.

With everything in place, the Congress is set to be a memorable event for all participants. Attendees can look forward to a packed schedule of activities, including keynote speeches, presentations, and workshops, all focused on the theme of “Sport for All: More together than ever”.
