New Projects

ACT RISE: Advancing Sport for All in Eastern Europe

📅 January 2025 – December 2026
📍 Led by: Agenția Națională pentru Sport (ANS), Romania

ACT RISE is a capacity-building project designed to elevate awareness of Sport for All and physical activity while addressing key societal challenges in post-conflict regions. The project focuses on:

  • Reconciliation (R)
  • Inclusion (I)
  • Safeguarding (S)
  • Gender Equality (E)
  • Capacity building (to RaISE the impact of Sport for All organizations)

Through mapping national and regional Sport for All policies in Romania, Ukraine, and Moldova, ACT RISE will develop a tailored training methodology to enhance the capabilities of local organizations. The initiative will train:

✔️ 200 participants from Romania, Ukraine, and Moldova through in-person sessions
✔️ 500+ participants from neighboring countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Poland, and Hungary through online training

Beyond training, the project will produce:

  • New Methodologies for Sport for All
  • Online educational resources
  • Special joint sport events
  • Handbooks for advocating public policy change
  • Joint statements from national stakeholders to drive forward sustainable strategies

By equipping sport organizations with the necessary tools and knowledge, ACT RISE seeks to strengthen Sport for All initiatives across Eastern Europe and neighboring regions.

HPSCoach-EDU: Transforming Coaching into a Tool for Health Promotion

📅 January 2025 – December 2027
📍 Led by: Université de Lorraine

HPSCoach-EDU is dedicated to integrating health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) within sports coaching, ensuring that national sports federations and universities can effectively train coaches to promote health at all levels of sport.

Building on the work of the HEPA network’s "Promoting Physical Activity and Health in Sports Clubs" group, this project tackles the lack of health promotion strategies in sports federations by focusing on:

  • Organizational
  • Social
  • Environmental
  • Economic factors influencing coaching and physical activity participation

By engaging stakeholders across seven levels—individual coaches, club managers, federations, public health professionals, and governments—HPSCoach-EDU aims to:
✔️ Improve coaching quality
✔️ Enhance diversity and inclusion in coaching
✔️ Promote health through grassroots sports clubs

A key outcome of the project will be an innovative digital e-platform featuring reusable and transferable coaching tools, enabling federations and universities to act as agents of change in embedding health promotion into coaching practices.

Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on these exciting projects!
