On February 27, TAFISA marked an exciting milestone in the Girls Positive and Safe Coaching Pathway as we officially welcomed our Regional Trainers—a dedicated group of professionals who will play a key role in driving the program’s success across different regions.

Pathway Regional Trainers

Meet Our Regional Trainers:

  • Julia Tappendorf, Germany
  • Rohan Pereira, India
  • Fathime Tibu, Kenya
  • Gorata Kgathi, Botswana
  • Safiya Sylvester, Trinidad and Tobago
  • Vanessa Ricones, Brazil

During the onboarding session, our trainers received key tools, resources, and strategies to support their role in mentoring, guiding, and overseeing local trainers and implementing partners. Their leadership will be essential in fostering inclusive, safe, and empowering coaching environments for girls in sports.

What Is the Role of Regional Trainers?

As the crucial link between TAFISA, implementing partners, and local trainers, our Regional Trainers will ensure that the Pathway’s principles are delivered effectively and sustained over time. Their responsibilities include:

  • Engaging Implementing Partners – Supporting and collaborating with implementing partners to identify and prepare local trainers.
  • Leading & Supporting Local Trainers – Conducting Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions, mentoring, and ensuring quality delivery.
  • Ensuring Quality Implementation & Oversight – Monitoring progress, gathering feedback, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

A huge thank you to all our Regional Trainers for stepping into this pivotal role! Your leadership will be instrumental in transforming sports coaching for girls worldwide.

Stay tuned for more updates as we move into the next phase of implementation!
