Project Highlights

Our team has successfully developed a robust network of 33 trainers from 14 implementing partners, who are now leading workshops and training sessions in their regions. This network is crucial for spreading the positive impact of the Pathway and ensuring continuous support and knowledge sharing among coaches.

To date, we have engaged 489 coaches, each dedicated to enhancing their coaching skills and creating safer, more supportive environments for girls in sports. The Pathway project has reached over 25 countries, from Fiji to Trinidad and Tobago, showcasing a global commitment to improving the quality of coaching for girls and ensuring their safety and well-being in sports. With a total of 15 workshops conducted so far, both virtually and in-person, these sessions have been tailored to adapt the program to local contexts, ensuring relevance and impact. They addressed the unique challenges and opportunities within each region, providing participants with the tools and knowledge they need to implement the Pathway effectively.

Key Activities:

  • In-Person Workshops: Held in diverse locations, these sessions have provided hands-on training and fostered community among coaches and participants. This includes workshop at Olympic House in Trinidad and Tobago in partnership with CANOC, which featured enriching panel discussions and collaborative group activities.
  • Virtual Training Sessions: For regions where in-person gatherings are not feasible, our virtual sessions have offered flexibility and accessibility, allowing for continued learning and engagement.
  • Storytelling Initiatives: Through the Storytelling Toolkit, participants have been sharing their journeys and successes, highlighting the transformative impact of the Pathway on their communities.
  • Drop-In Sessions: Drop-in sessions were organized with implementing partners and trainers to keep track of progress and appreciate feedback. These sessions have provided valuable insights and allowed us to make real-time adjustments to the program, ensuring it meets the needs of our participants and hosts.
  • Meet Our Trainers - Social Media Campaign: To further amplify the impact of the Pathway, we have launched a "Meet Our Trainers" social media campaign. This campaign features profiles and stories of our dedicated trainers, showcasing their commitment and contributions to creating a safer, more inclusive sports environment for girls. Follow us on our social media channels to meet these inspiring individuals and learn more about their journeys.

The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive!

"I wasn't aware of the specific needs and challenges that girls face in sports. The Pathway workshops have equipped me with the skills and confidence to coach girls effectively."
"The modules on Body Confidence and Safeguarding in Sport were eye-opening. I now understand how to address sensitive issues and support my athletes better."

As we move forward, our focus remains on expanding the reach and impact of the Girls Positive and Safe Coaching Pathway. Implementing Partners will continue hosting workshops and providing continuous support for our trainers and participants. Our goal is to ensure that the lessons and skills gained are effectively applied, leading to lasting change in sports environments globally.
