With some 18 months to go before the 26th TAFISA World Congress in Tokyo, Japan (13-17 November, 2019), TAFISA Japan is actively working on laying the foundations of an outstanding event. Masanori Tamazawa from TAFISA Japan joined the TAFISA Office in Frankfurt, Germany for a working meeting on the organisation of the Congress.

The meeting was also the occasion to gather the ideas and knowledge of past Congresses during a 1-day workshop inviting the hosts from the last two Congresses (Budapest, Hungary 2015 and Seoul, Korea 2017) to share their experiences with the future Japanese host and the hosts of Ljubljana, Slovenia 2021. The TAFISA Office thus welcomed András Füleky and Róbert Benyhe from the Hungarian Leisure Sport Association, Stacey Kim from the TAFISA World Congress 2017 in Seoul, Korea's Organising Committee, and the hosts of the TAFISA World Congress 2021 in Ljubljana, Slovenia; Patrik Perosa (Sports Union Slovenia) and Janez Sodrznik (Slovenian Olympic Committee and TAFISA Board Member). One of the key outcomes of the meeting was aligning the TAFISA World Congress with Mission 2030 as it was adopted during the TAFISA General Assembly in 2017

TAFISA is confident that this workshop will help future hosts better prepare for the next Congresses and will ensure the events' legacy through the years, marking a consistent continuity between TAFISA World Congresses.

Many thanks to the various hosts for their support, loyalty and hard work in contributing to the Sport for All movement.
