The 2024 Global Observatory Conference centered around advancing gender equality in sport, physical activity, and physical education (PEPAS) by showcasing cutting-edge research and evidence-based strategies. This year’s theme, “From Research to Action”, highlighted how research can be translated into practical policies and programs. Attendees explored the role of knowledge partnerships in driving impactful change and discussed how data can be leveraged to shape policies that foster women's leadership and participation in sport.

Guest speakers demonstrated how data, evidence, and knowledge can be harnessed to enhance the sport sector’s ability to tackle gender inequalities, offering insights on best practices for monitoring and tracking progress. The conference aimed to equip sport professionals with the tools and methodologies needed to address disparities and promote gender equality in sport.

The event brought together a diverse group of participants, including professionals from national and international sport federations, NGOs, intergovernmental and governmental organizations, UN representatives, academics, and more.
