The Spanish Cultural Association and TAFISA Member La Tanguilla will organise the VI International Festival of Traditional Games from 25-29 April 2019 in the Castilla y Loeón Community of Aranda del Duero. During the four days of festival, visitors and participants will be able to attend to traditional games exhibitions, this year focusing on the role of women and the variety of boules and bowling games. Participants from Europe (Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark and Bosnia and Herzegovina) and North Africa (Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria) among other countries have already confirmed their presence and will gather in Aranda del Duero to present their traditional games.
Alongside the exhibitions and games open for everyone to try and play, the festival will feature a conference under the title of “Women and Traditional Sports". Speakers from European universities will put forward their research results recognising the valuable work women throughout history have done in preserving and transmitting traditional games and all aspects of culture. The festival will also have games workshops, guide visits to the traditional games exhibition at the Aranda Cultural House and an International Festival of Folklore.
