First TAFISA Certified Leadership Course in Portugal!

From the 17th to 20th May 2019, The Association of Cerebral Palsy Almada Seixa (APCAS) – under the leadership of its President José Patrício – hosted for the first time a TAFISA Certified Leadership Course in Seixal, Portugal.

Over four days, the participants learnt about topics such as the Global Dimension of Sport four All, Target Groups in Sport four All, Management and Leadership, Marketing, PR and Communications, Event and Programme Management and Active Cities, Facilities and Public Spaces.  

Special guest lectures were given by Jorge Carvalho, Director of the Department of Sports of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth; Isabel Costa, Head of Sports Division of Seixal City Hall; João Pedro Graça, Sports School; José Lourenço, President of the Paralympic Committee of Portugal; and Pedro Folgado, Director of the Youth Department of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth.  Also included was a presentation given by Ana Barradas on the work of APCAS as well as personal testimonies from three of the motivated and passionate APCAS volunteers

The CLC was led by TAFISA Commissioner Peter Kapustin and also facilitated by TAFISA Business Development and Fundraising Manager Keri McDonald.
