[Video] - Relive our Webinar on Monitoring and Evaluation in Sport for All

On 3 September, TAFISA hosted a webinar on Monitoring and Evaluation in Sport for All. This event, the second in the new Mission 2030 Series cycle, attracted attendees from around the globe, with over 600 registrations, and featured participation from highly qualified experts in the field. Their involvement elevated the discussion about the importance of data in Sport for All programs, underscoring the need for efficient and intentional data collection, and calling for a global collaborative approach to monitoring and evaluation.

The invited experts from diverse backgrounds within the Sport for All movement, engaged deeply with the topic, guided by moderator Rachel Mait. Kwok Ng from the University of Limerick opened the event with an insightful presentation, highlighting the importance of achieving project success and demonstrating that success can be adequately measured through tangible metrics. He stressed the significance of measuring impact, assessing performance, and using data to inform decision-making. This process helps to understand what has been achieved, what is currently happening, and what can be improved to ensure the sustainability of sport and physical activity projects.

Eduardo Pacheco, President of HURRA, presented a case study focusing on quantitative data collection to reshape and refine programs and establish the organization's impact in communities facing vulnerable social conditions in Brazil. Following this, Rohan Pereira from Pro Sport Development in India discussed qualitative data storytelling, showcasing how personal narratives can support and communicate program results and impact.

The panel discussions featured valuable insights from Maria Bobenrieth of WomenWin, Gabre Jesu McTair from the Ministry of Sport and Community Development Trinidad and Tobago, Allan Williams from the Sport for Social Change Africa Network, and Ridwan Azeez from the IOC. The speakers emphasized the need for global cooperation and intentional approaches to data collection, highlighting the possibilities that effective monitoring and evaluation can bring to projects, programs and Sport organizations.
