On 22-23 September TAFISA Board of Directors Members visited Piran, Portorož and Ljubljana, Slovenia where a TAFISA Board Meeting was held. The special date of 23 September marks the Day of Slovenian Sport, a national holiday launched in 2020 following a proposal of TAFISA Members Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Federations, and Sport Union Slovenia. The holiday has been designed as a way to emphasise the special place of sport in society, and set an example for other countries. The pandemic and its consequences have shown the importance of sport, and of its actors and stakeholders – the Global Sport for All Movement, supported by TAFISA. We thus encourages all TAFISA Members to continue in their efforts to engage people and communities in Sport for All activities and programmes.

During its meeting in Slovenia, the TAFISA BoD was given a report on the preparations for the 27th TAFISA World Congress to take place in Piran and Portorož on the Adriatic coast on 8-12 June 2022. TAFISA BoD Member Mag. Janez Sodržnik, Chairman of the organizing committee, presented the Congress’ organisation and infrastructure and confirmed that they are ready for the event. He proceeded to invite TAFISA Members to attend the Congress and make a common contribution to Sport for All.

The Congress will represent an exceptional opportunity for TAFISA Members and stakeholders from the Global Sport for All Movement to meet, exchange experiences and good practices, share innovative ideas and learn from each other and from renowned international speakers about the latest trends in Sport for All.
