TAFISA has made a donation towards the victims of Cyclone Freddy in Mozambique. The donation was handed over by TAFISA Vice President Keenese Katisenge-Tizhani on Thursday 11 May in collaboration with the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC). The High Commissioner of Mozambique in Botswana, H.E Antonio Macheve, was also present to receive the donations.
The devastating Cyclone Freddy had caused widespread destruction in Mozambique, Madagascar, Malawi, and Zimbabwe in February and March 2023. As an organisation that believes in using the power of sport to create a better world and contribute to tackling global challenges, TAFISA took the initiative to make a difference in the lives of those affected. The donation comprised of clothes, shoes, blankets, and household items, which constitute basic necessities for the victims.
TAFISA remains committed to maximizing its contribution to solving global challenges through sport. TAFISA extends its sincere thanks to the Botswana National Sport Commission for collaborating with them on this donation. H.E Antonio Macheve, who accepted the donation on behalf of the victims, was also appreciated for his presence at the handover event.
TAFISA encourages all members of its community to continue working towards making a difference in the world through the power of sport. Together, they can achieve great things and make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need.
