TAFISA Meets with African Union

TAFISA met for the first time with the African Union Sport Council Region 5 (AUSC) in Gaborone, Botswana, on the 12th of June 2017. The AUSC’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Stanley Mutoya and TAFISA’s Manager for Programs and Events Mr. Jean-Francois Laurent discussed opportunities for cooperation and identified areas where both organisations could support each other promote Sport for All and Physical Activity in this region.

TAFISA Secretary General Appointed Member of IOC Sport and Active Society Commission

TAFISA is pleased and honoured to announce that TAFISA Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann was again appointed member of the IOC Sport and Active Society Commission. 

The Commission reports to the IOC and provides advice and expertise on how Sport can help promote physical activity in the society. 

PyeongChang Olympic Legacy Symposium Highlights Key Topics of Legacy and Sustainability

On the initiative of the TAFISA President Prof. Dr. Juho Chang, and with the financial support of K.Will, a high level PyeongChang Olympic Legacy Symposium was staged in Seoul on 24th January with the ultimate aim to highlight the importance of the legacy and sustainability of Olympic Games.

Towards a European TSG Platform

It is with great success that TAFISA and its project partners launched, on January 18th – 20th, the “European Traditional Sports and Games Platform” (ETSGP) Project. The kick-off meeting was co-hosted by the Italian Federation of Traditional Sports and Games and Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) in Rome, Italy.
