Announcement: The Global Sport for All Movement and COVID-19

The current situation with the COVID-19 outbreak worldwide is prompting us all to take exceptional measures. In alignment with recommendations from the WHO, governmental authorities and health experts, TAFISA has decided to suspend any international travel of its Board of Directors and staff members until further notice and will thus not join any international event during the next two months.

1st TAFISA Asian Sport for All Games 2022 to be held in Malaysia

An important step was taken on 10 February 2020 as, following their election by the TAFISA General Assembly in November 2019, the Malaysian Sports for All Council (MASFA), Sarawak Ministry for Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sport, and Sarawak Sports Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with TAFISA and officially announced the hosting of the 1st TAFISA Asian Sport for All Games 2022 in Kuching City, Sarawak, Malaysia. 

Erasmus+ Sport Infoday / Erasmus+ Sport Project Coordinator’s Meeting

On the 30th January TAFISA attended the annual Erasmus+ Sport Infoday, hosted by the European Commission and the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). This event gathered sport stakeholders from all across Europe to inform on the political context, future programme and funding opportunities from 2020 and beyond.

TAFISA Meets Partners in Lausanne

In the framework of the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland (9-22 January), TAFISA Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann had an excellent opportunity to meet with various stakeholders in the Swiss city. Wolfgang Baumann was invited in his capacity as a Member of the IOC Sport and Active Society Commission to join the Commission’s meeting, where he reported on TAFISA’s current activities.
