TAFISA is honoured to announce that Frankfurt Mayor and Treasurer Uwe Becker was presented the TAFISA Friend for Life Award for his strong commitment to support TAFISA and promote Sport for All. He can be considered a key figure for the establishment of the TAFISA headquarters in Frankfurt through the moral and financial support of his city.

The Sports Faculty of the University of Leipzig is offering coaches and physical education teachers from developing countries 5-month courses in four alternating specialisations and languages (English, Spanish, French, Arabic).

Who can apply?

Participants up to 40 years, with completed higher education in the field of sports and who have practical experience as athletes or physical education teachers/coaches.  

The International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW) celebrated the 70th anniversary of the organisation with a Regional Congress in Madrid, Spain.

The Anti-Doping Values in Coach Education (ADVICE) project moves forward – at a partners meeting hosted by the Spanish Anti-Doping Agency on 8 July 2019 in Madrid, Spain, the draft mobile application was presented and is now subject to testing and a scientific study engaging grassroots sport coaches.

TAFISA has received the first official bid to host the 8th TAFISA World Sport for All Games which will take place in 2024. In line with bidding guidelines, a pre-contact has now been signed between TAFISA and the bidding organisation, the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).  The ROC has bid to host the 2024 TAFISA World Sport for All Games in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod.

From the 17th to 20th May 2019, The Association of Cerebral Palsy Almada Seixa (APCAS) – under the leadership of its President José Patrício – hosted for the first time a TAFISA Certified Leadership Course in Seixal, Portugal.

Sport can break down barriers and build more inclusive societies. It brings together people from all kind of backgrounds and cultures.

On the 1st of July 2019, TAFISA and partners gathered in Munich, Germany, to officially launch the International Sports-Innovation-Network (SINN-i), a front-running network stimulating and creating innovations in the field of physical activity, sports and health with the core focus of bringing more joy of movement into the world.

On July 2nd, President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor welcomed a delegation with representatives from the Olympic Committee of Slovenia - Association of Sports Federations (NOC-ASF), Sport Union of Slovenia (ŠUS) and TAFISA in Portorož, Slovenia, which will host the 27th TAFISA World Congress in October 2021. The President of the Republic handed over the Charter of Honorary patronage to the TAFISA World Congress 2021 and accepted chairmanship of the Hono

On June 20th, 2019 the 3rd PACTE Steering Committee meeting was hosted by Sport and Citizenship in Brussels, Belgium. The various partners focused on the latest developments of the PACTE matrix, aimed at supporting municipalities take steps for the happiness and well-being of their citizens, and the next steps to be undertaken. The following day, a workshop on "Active Cities, Active Workplaces" was held at the European Committee of the Regions.
