On the 2nd of February 2021 the Programme and Organising Committees of the 27^th TAFISA World Congress that will be held in Portorož, Slovenia (6-10 October 2021), met to discuss the state of the Congress. During the meetings, members of both committees shared their thoughts on the Congress' concept, programme and organisation. 

The 28^th TAFISA World Congress 2023 will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, and its Organising Committee has been officially constituted during a kick-off meeting on 27^th January 2021.

TAFISA is excited to announce that its project “International and European Sport Organisations Activate Citizens – INTERACT” selected by the European Commission and co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union started its course on 1 January 2021 and will run until December 2022. 

We are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Prof. Walther Tröger on 30 December 2020, at the age of 91. 

TAFISA and the Fiji Sports Commission are proud to announce that they have been allocated a grant from UNESCO to implement the “Women Leadership Through Sport for All – Training the next Generation of Women Sport for All Leaders in Oceania” programme in 2021.

The Organising Committee will introduce their team and explain how they are preparing to organise the Games and welcome participants in the magnificent city of Lisbon. 

TAFISA is proud to count on a new partner with the Aspen Institute Sport & Society Programme! Following the approval of the Aspen Institute as a new TAFISA national member for the USA by the TAFISA Board of Directors, TAFISA and the Aspen Institute Sport & Society Programme signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 9 December.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently released its “2020 Guidelines on Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour”. Assembled by experts from various health disciplines, the document serves as an evidence-based public health guideline for people of all ages and specific target groups. 

From 23 November to 3 December, 26 representatives from TAFISA member organisations attended and graduated from the first-ever TAFISA/ROC/RIOU Sport Event Management Course. Congratulations to them!
