The Organising Committee (OC) of the 7th TAFISA World Sport for All Games held a webinar on 18 December – exactly 6 months before the start of the biggest world Sport for All event.

Dear participants, TAFISA members and stakeholders,

On behalf of the Organising Committe, we invite you to join a Webinar on 18 December at 11am UTC, where the 7th TAFISA World Sport for All Games, Lisbon 2021, will be presented. 

The Organising Committee will introduce their team and explain how they are preparing to organise the Games and welcome participants in the magnificent city of Lisbon. 

TAFISA is proud to count on a new partner with the Aspen Institute Sport & Society Programme! Following the approval of the Aspen Institute as a new TAFISA national member for the USA by the TAFISA Board of Directors, TAFISA and the Aspen Institute Sport & Society Programme signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 9 December.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently released its “2020 Guidelines on Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour”. Assembled by experts from various health disciplines, the document serves as an evidence-based public health guideline for people of all ages and specific target groups. 

From 23 November to 3 December, 26 representatives from TAFISA member organisations attended and graduated from the first-ever TAFISA/ROC/RIOU Sport Event Management Course. Congratulations to them!

Five Irish cities joined an Active City Capacity-Building workshop on 25 November. Hosted by Sport Ireland and led by TAFISA and the Liverpool John Moores University, the workshop aimed to support the Local Sports Partnerships of Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford in initiating their Active City projects as part of a national programme launched by Sport Ireland.

On Thursday, 12 November 2020 our new webinar series in collaboration with the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) was launched with a first webinar in partnership with the African Women In Sports Association (AWISA).

On 29 October, a TAFISA Board of Directors Meeting was held to discuss current issues as well as political and strategic matters in the organisation. This second board meeting of 2020 took place online as the first one in May did, to protect the health and safety of Board Members during the global pandemic.

On 22 October 2020, TAFISA and the African Union Sport Council (AUSC) Region 5 were invited to jointly speak at a webinar hosted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on the topic of sport-based initiatives for youth crime during COVID-19 in South Africa.
